Marvel
.com Refresh
In 2018 Marvel came to R/GA with as good of a problem as you could have. Their movies were a hit at the box office and they had become an international house hold name... but their web platform hadn't kept up. In fact, it hadn't been touched in years.

I was a lead designer on the charge to bring their website into the 21st century. We completely redesigned the entire experience, focusing on making the new Marvel.com a digital first content hub and where any fan could easily dig deeper into their favorite characters.

Being a Marvel fan can be a lot of work. On top of the 1,500+ characters and 40,000+ comics, there are 89 movies, and 11 active TV shows. It’s a confusing place that even the most dedicated fans can’t keep straight.

On the new Marvel.com we made it easy to browse characters by their allies, enemies and family connections, made clear distinctions between a character’s screen and comic profiles, and highlighted key moments in each character’s story arc.
We built the new Marvel.com to grow alongside an ever changing and evolving media environment. Working side by side with the Marvel team, we created a modular system that allows their content editors to modify pages on the fly and create new pages to satisfy any need.
But wait, that's not all–
